Applications for support for 2027 must be submitted by September 30, 2026, at the latest.
The Town of Brome Lake is proud to be a preferred destination for hosting a wide range of high-quality events. These diverse activities contribute to the vitality and vibrancy of our community. This Event Support Policy, adopted by Town Council, aims to streamline and facilitate the organization of events while ensuring responsible municipal management.
By establishing clear criteria and specific conditions for event support, the Town seeks to ensure fairness and transparency in the allocation of municipal resources.
Requests for activity support are subject to approval.
Funding cannot be guaranteed for requests received after the deadlines. These requests will be reviewed on an individual basis.
To be eligible for financial, technical or professional support, organizations must meet, at a minimum, the following requirements:
Events will be evaluated according to the following criteria:
The organization’s profile will be assessed based on its previous experience, knowledge of the region, and the viability and feasibility of its event.
The event’s visibility and reach will be assessed based on its ability to raise awareness of the region beyond the Town’s territory, the budget allocated to promotion, media presence, its website, communication strategies and media coverage.
The organization must be able to demonstrate that the event has strong potential to generate overnight stays and encourage the use of related services, such as activities and restaurants, within the Town of Brome Lake.
The organization must be able to demonstrate that the event is appropriately aligned with the Town’s strategic positioning, based on the quality of its programming, its duration, its target audience, the proposed venues, its distinctive and innovative nature, its development potential and its appeal.
The Town encourages events that prioritize local purchasing and incorporate environmentally responsible practices into the production and delivery of the event, including waste management, the consumption and reuse of resources, and public awareness initiatives.

Financial Support
To support organizations that organize events, the Town of Brome Lake may provide financial assistance in the form of a grant. The amount of financial assistance is determined based on the evaluation criteria outlined above.
The financial assistance provided by the Town may not exceed $25,000. The amount granted will be determined based on an assessment of the operating budget and the evaluation criteria outlined above.
Financial support is subject to budget availability and must be approved by Town Council.
Payment of Financial Assistance
Following approval by Town Council, the organization must sign a funding agreement.
An amount equivalent to 80% of the approved financial assistance will be paid to the event organizer.
The remaining 20% will be paid to the organization following the event, once the final report has been submitted along with the supporting invoices. This payment is conditional on receipt of the final report within 60 days following the end of the event.
Financial assistance of $2,000 or less will be granted without the submission of invoices. However, an event report must still be submitted.

All applications will be reviewed by a committee composed of elected municipal officials and representatives from the Department of Recreation, Tourism, Culture and Community Life.
The committee will use the evaluation criteria to determine the amount and type of support to be provided, while taking the Town of Brome Lake’s available financial resources into account.
The committee will submit its recommendations to Town Council for a decision and final approval. Council’s decision may differ from the amount requested.
