Remember to apply for a burning permit a few days in advance! Permits can take up to two working days to be issued and are only issued during the week, within office hours.

Be sure to meet the following criteria

The chosen location should be well clear, away from any overhead obstacles;
No lighting if it is windy;
Formal commitment by the applicant to keep under adult supervision any person under 18 years of age who uses fireworks;
The applicant agrees to read all instructions on the fireworks and to plan the order of ignition;
Set up the firing ramp in the center of the field: buckets, boxes or wheelbarrows filled with soil or sand;
Half-bury the pieces that do not have a base, unless otherwise indicated on the packaging. Set them up at a 10 degree angle away from the spectators;
Do not hold in the hand any pyrotechnic parts that are lit, except the sparklers;
Light the wick halfway.
Keep water on hand: dispose of used parts and debris in a bucket of water or return them to the vendor;
Do not relight a part that has not worked; wait 30 minutes before approaching it.
Keep parts locked in a dry, cool, ventilated area that is inaccessible to children
Provide any other tasks to increase the safety of the premises.
Comply with the Peace, Order and Nuisance Bylaw 615.
