Burning Permit Application Form


Is the SOPFEU fire danger rating indication yellow, orange or red? *Please note that SOPFEU deactivates its indicator in winter. Burning is still authorized with a permit during the cold season.

Notice

Burning is prohibited due to the danger.

The permit is valid for a maximum period of 24 hours.

Be sure to meet the following criteria

  1. The chosen location should be well clear, away from any overhead obstacles;
  2. No lighting if it is windy;
  3. Formal commitment by the applicant to keep under adult supervision any person under 18 years of age who uses fireworks;
  4. The applicant agrees to read all instructions on the fireworks and to plan the order of ignition;
  5. Set up the firing ramp in the center of the field: buckets, boxes or wheelbarrows filled with soil or sand;
  6. Half-bury the pieces that do not have a base, unless otherwise indicated on the packaging. Set them up at a 10 degree angle away from the spectators;
  7. Do not hold in the hand any pyrotechnic parts that are lit, except the sparklers;
  8. Light the wick halfway.
  9. Keep water on hand: dispose of used parts and debris in a bucket of water or return them to the vendor;
  10. Do not relight a part that has not worked; wait 30 minutes before approaching it.
  11. Keep parts locked in a dry, cool, ventilated area that is inaccessible to children
  12. Provide any other tasks to increase the safety of the premises.
  13. Comply with the Peace, Order and Nuisance Bylaw 615.
